Therapeutic Approach

Erica believes that healing occurs through connection and community and desires to create a relationship where clients feel seen, heard, accepted, and safe enough to explore parts of themselves that may be difficult to put into words. She approaches therapy with curiosity and compassion, meeting each client where they are rather than expecting them to fit into a particular idea of what therapy “should” look like. She believes that therapy is a collaborative process of discovering what helps them feel more connected to themselves, to others, and to the life they want to create.

Her approach is grounded in the belief that people have an innate need for belonging, connection, and encouragement, and that every behavior serves a purpose. She draws from Adlerian principles while incorporating expressive arts and play to help clients explore emotions, relationships, strengths, and patterns in ways that feel natural and meaningful to them.

When working with children, Erica uses play therapy because play is often the language through which children naturally communicate and make sense of their world. Play is an important avenue for children to communicate, practice new skills, experience mastery, and work through experiences that may be difficult to express verbally.

Beyond the Office

When Erica isn’t working, you can usually find her spending time with her family or going on an outdoor adventure, like hiking, browsing garage sales and farmers markets, or signing up for a 5K race. She loves the little things that make everyday life feel special—kitchen dance parties, DIY home projects, meaningful conversations, and finding reasons to laugh (with three kids and a dog, the laughs find her easily!) She is a lover of Reality TV, animals, baked goods, and eclectic home decor. Her favorite ways to "ground" are being in nature or cuddling her babies!

As a true social introvert, she is happiest when she can slow down, be creative, and spend time with the people she loves.

Client Testimonials

My child connected with Erica so quickly. She has such a warm, patient way of making kids feel comfortable and accepted. My child actually looks forward to therapy, and I’ve already noticed more confidence and a better ability to talk about big feelings at home. As a parent, I also appreciate how Erica keeps me informed and gives me practical ways to support what they’re working on in play therapy

Parent of 5 year old Client

Erica has been wonderful with our child. We were a little nervous about starting therapy, but she made the whole process feel comfortable from the beginning. Our child feels safe with her and loves to go to play therapy. We see changes at home, our child seems calmer and tells us how they feel more often. We’re so thankful we found Erica.
