Therapeutic Approach
Dr. Battles takes a warm, collaborative, and solution-focused approach to counseling, helping adults and couples feel supported, understood, and empowered throughout the therapeutic process. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy techniques, she works with clients to better understand patterns, improve communication, strengthen coping skills, and develop practical strategies for navigating life’s challenges. She believes therapy should feel both supportive and productive, creating a space where clients can process emotions while also building meaningful tools for growth and change.

When working with couples, she utilizes principles from the Gottman Method and is Gottman Level 2 trained, helping partners strengthen communication, rebuild trust, deepen emotional connection, and navigate conflict in healthier ways. She has experience supporting couples through relationship distress, communication difficulties, infidelity, emotional disconnection, and life transitions while fostering an environment where both individuals feel heard, respected, and understood. Her goal is to help couples move toward greater connection, understanding, and healing while creating healthier patterns within their relationship.

"I felt completely overwhelmed trying to figure out adulthood and honestly thought everyone else somehow knew how to handle life better than I did. Therapy gave me practical tools that actually helped with everyday things like routines, stress, motivation, communication, and just managing life without constantly feeling burnt out. I finally feel like I understand myself better and don’t feel so lost trying to keep up with everything anymore."

Client Testimonials
“
"I was hesitant about couples counseling at first because I figured it would just turn into blaming each other for an hour every week, but it ended up helping us communicate in a way we never really had before. Dr. Battles taught us how to slow down, actually listen to each other, and work through problems without everything becoming a fight. It honestly helped us feel like partners again instead of just stressed and disconnected all the time."
